Biography

Rt. Hon Muhammad Bello Butu-Butu was born in Butu-Butu ward on the 6th of June, 1966. He attended Butu-Butu Primary School from 1974-1980. He did his Junior Secondary Education at Dawakin Tofa from 1980-1983 while he attended Senior Secondary School, Bagauda Technical from 1983-1986 respectively.

From 1986-1990 he was at the School of Technology, Kano for his National Certificate of Education (NCE), with BIAS in Technical. From 1992- 1995, Hon. Butu-Butu attended Kaduna Polytechnic for his Bachelor of Education degree (Technical) and Postgraduate Diploma in Management & Evaluation, Bayero University, Kano. He worked with the Ministry of Education from 1990 to 2014. He was a classroom teacher, Examination Officer, Senior Master (Academic and Administration) respectively. He also served as a Principal and Chief Education Officer (C.E.O), Monitoring and Evaluation. In his political experience Hon. Bello was appointed a supervisory councilor on education and community development. He was once the Vice Chairman of Rimin Gado. He was appointed Senior Special Adviser, Ministry of Health 2000-2003 and Interim Management Officer (Imo) 2011-2014. Hon. Bello Butu-Butu was a former Majority Leader and was elected on 13th June, 2023 as the Deputy Speaker of the Tenth Assembly. He is the Chairman of Inter-parliamentary Committee (African Region) and Deputy Chairman of Rules and Business Committee and a Member of various House Standing Committee including Selection, Appropriation, Hajj, Education, Health, Public Account and Guidance and Counseling.
