Hon. Lawan Shehu was born on 1st October, 1964 in Bichi Local Government Kano. He attended Chiranci Science and Mathematics Primary School Bichi from 1976 to 1981. He then proceeded to Government Secondary School Dawakin Tofa and Karaye from 1981 to 1983 and 1983 to 1986 respectively. He holds a National Certificate of Education from Federal College of Education, Kano from 2018 to 2010. Hon. Lawan Shehu, is a Member of All Progressive Party (APC). He was a former Member of National Assembly and a former Local Government Chairman. He is a Chairman of Security Committee and Deputy Chairman Agriculture and a Member of various House Standing Committees including, Environment, Public Account, Pension,
