Hon. Garba Ya’u Gwarmai was born on 3^rd March 1970 in Gwarmai, Kunchi Local Government. He was enrolled into Danbatta Central Primary School in 1976. In 1982, he graduated with a Primary Leaving Certificate. Between 1984 and 1987 he attended continuing Education Centre, Kano and later Bayero University, Kano (2012-2014) for a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA). A grassroot politician with the interest of his people at heart, Honorable Gwamai started his political career as a Ward Chairman of his party, Assistant Secretary and later became a delegate (10 Delegates) of his Local government before becoming a State Delegate (2—delegates) respectively. Hon. Gwamai was elected State Legislator two times 2011-2015 and 2015-2019 and 2023 respectively. He is a Chairman House Standing Committee on Culture and Tourism and Deputy Chairman on Higher Education and also a Member of various House Standing Committee including, Land Committee, Local Government Committee, Water Resources Committee.  He likes to read and research. He also loves travelling and watching sports.
