Hon. Sunusi Usman Bataiya was born on 21^st June, 1965 in bataiya village of Albasu Local Government area.

Honourable Bataiya did his Primary School at Faragai Primary School (1971 – 1977) from where he proceeded to Government Secondary Schoo, Bichi (1977 – 1982). in the year 1985, he joined the services of Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (KNARDA) and voluntarily resigned following his appointment as a Local Government Secretary in 2001.

Between 1987 and 1988, Honourable Bataiya enrolled at the College of Agriculture Kabba, Kogi State, a division of Agricultural Colleges under the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for his Higher National Diploma.
