Rt Hon. Abdul’aziz Garba Gafasa was born in Gafasa Ajingi Local Government Area in 1962. He attended Toranke Primary School from 1969 – 1976. After his Primary School he got admission into Government College Birnin Kudu between 1976 – 1981. He proceeded to the School of Social and Rural Development Kano between 1981 – 1983 for a Diploma.

Honourable Abdul’aziz obtained his HND in Business Administration, PGD in Business Administration from Kaduna Polytechnic and worked as Area Cooperatives Officer with Kano State Ministry of Commerce. He was elected two terms as a councilor in Gafasa Ajingi Local Government as a Supervisory Councilor.

A grassroots politician Honourable Gafasa was elected to represent his constituency under ANPP for two terms 2003 – 2011. He was the Speaker Kano State House of Assembly from 2007 – 2011. He is now serving his fifth term as a Member in the House who has been elected as the 9th Assembly Speaker. Gafasa is Married with many children Honourable Gafasa is among the experienced serving Members in the House.
