Hon. Abba Ibrahim Garko was born in Garko on the 1st August, 1963. He attended Garko Primary School (1971 – 1978). He then attended Wudil Commercial Secondary School between 1978 – 1983.

Honourable Garko did his higher National Diploma (HND) at the Kano State Polytechnic (1989 – 1991). He worked as an Auditor with Kano State Government. He voluntarily retire and joined politics in 2007. He also has a postgraduate diploma.

He was elected Vice Chairman under the platform of All people’s Party (ANPP) 2007 – 2010. He also served as a Local Government Sole Administration (Takai Local Government).

Honourable Garko was elected into the State House of Assembly twice. He is currently the chairman, House committee on Local Government. He likes travelling.
